Being Frugal

I just read an article that I found interesting, at first glance of the title I thought that it was talking about people recycling used goods to purchase new ones. But , instead it is about those that shop for their food in dumpsters, now at first I was a little shocked but upon reading the articles it makes sense. If you practiced these methods you too could save big , however I feel that most people would not be willing to go this extreme ( but that is my two cents and that's why this is my page ;). On that note I have err... salvaged items that were being discarded and gave them new life. So it just depends how far you are willing to go in order to save some money along with the environment.

Here is the link to the article that I read.

Fuel price Blues

Well , I think that we all know that fuel prices are continuing to rise through America. I kinda of feel like a puppet on a string , at the feet of oil companies and the governments regulation on energy. So what can you do about it , plenty.

*For starters try to plan out your errands, this you are not running across town just for one thing.

* Check your tire pressure every other fill up to maintain maximum mpg. And keep your car tuned up ie: Air filter , spark plugs , ignition wires.

*You can see gains by switching to a synthetic oil , by reducing friction in the drive train frees up power to the wheel, which in turn your engine does have to work as hard. Cost of these oils are higher than conventional oil but , drive train longevity and fuel cost are offset.

*Try carpooling or alternative methods of transportation such as riding a bicycle or walking to your destination.

I hope these Ideas help...
Till next time Cheers
